Treated in 1886 by architect Louis Garros on the foundations of a rest stop on the ancient pilgrim route of Saint Jacques de Compostelle, traces of history are everywhere…

Around courtyards linked by a central avenue, planted with shady plane trees, are the buildings traditionally found on an important Languedoc wine domain: the château, the winery and cellars, and the wine-maker and grape-picker’s lodgings.  The blacksmith’s house, stables, forge and granary, the estate manager’s house and the gardener’s cottage, are also being transformed into a truly remarkable and unique property development.

To the south, the outline of the formal gardens remains intact, with thriving specimen trees and shrubs, an elegant conservatory and an innovative irrigation system of wells, pumps and channels.  These gardens are being entirely restored, using the plans of the original landscape architect, recovered from their resting place in the Château’s eaves.
